Audrey Jean Trumbull, age 67, died Wednesday, June 8, 2005, surrounded by her family and friends, after a brief but very intense battle with lymphoma. A memorial service to celebrate her life is planned for 7 p.m., Tuesday, June 14 at Denali Bible Chapel. Longtime family friend the Rev. Don Sauer will officiate.

Audrey was preceded in death by her husband, John O. Trumbull, her parents. John and Edith Bredeweg and dear friend Molly Spooner. She is survived by her daughter Janice Trumbull; daughter and son-in-law Martha and Bill Farrell; grandchildren Robert, Alex and Meghan; brothers and sisters-in-law Norm and Evelyn Bredeweg, Harvey and Polly Bredeweg, Russ and Gini Bredeweg, Robert Spooner, Janet and Ken Lenger, Micheal and Sylia Spooner; and many nieces and nephews.

Audrey was the third of four children born to John and Edith Bredeweg in Moline, Mich. She met and married John Trumbull, an airline mechanic from Washington, and moved to Fairbanks in 1964. From 1964 to 1985 Audrey taught music and the fourth grade in the Fairbanks public schools. She and John found a church home at University Park Bible Church and began the friendships that would change lives and bond numerous families together forever. She was a daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, friend, teacher and musician.

Audrey was an avid sports fan and was seen and heard at Nanook games of all kinds through the years and had made a mission of attending Major League Baseball games in as many parks as possible throughout her travels. She traveled extensively after her retirement and enjoyed seeking out sports arenas, fabric stores, antique shops and beaches, among many other things.
