 BERGSMA
— Mrs. Ruth A. Bergsma, aged 83, of Grand Rapids, went home to be with
her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, April 2, 2003 after a courageous
battle with cancer. She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Willard "Bill" Bergsma; her brothers and sisters-in-law, Bernard and Alice Neipp, Everett and Theresa Neipp; her brother-in-law, Garrett Bergsma; and her son-in-law, Greg Towne. Surviving are her children, Peggy (Don) Phillips, David (Ruth) Bergsma, Becki (Ron) Connor; 11 grandchildren; six great grandchildren; her brother, Fred (Florence) Neipp; her sisters-in-law, Mildred Bergsma, Nellie (John) Lenger, Helen (Bob) Smits; and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the chemo staff at West Michigan Hematology and special friends, Nancy and Loren Slager, for their care and support. The Funeral Service will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 5 at the Byron Center Berean Bible Church, 399 84th St. SW, with Pastor John Lowder officiating. Interment in Kent Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be given to The Grand Rapids Home for Veterans or the American Cancer Society.
